In 2023, Mubadala announced an exciting three-year global partnership with SailGP, the world’s most exciting race on water.

At the core of this partnership lies the alignment of two organizations committed to the future: Mubadala, with its focus on investing in future industries and global growth, and SailGP, which aspires to become the world’s most sustainable sports and entertainment platform, while delivering high-performance close to shore racing in iconic venues.

Together, they champion three strategic pillars:

Growth & evolution of the partnership

From Mubadala’s initial engagement as title partner of the San Francisco Grand Final to Mubadala becoming a global partner of the SailGP Inspire programme, the league’s youth and community engagement initiative, which through its three pathways (careers, learning, racing), has already reached more than 20,000 young people worldwide.

The partnership continues to evolve with Mubadala becoming the title sponsor of both the New York and the Abu Dhabi Sail Grand Prix races, to making a strategic investment into team ownership and athlete pathways with the formation of the Mubadala Brazil SailGP team.

The partnership further deepened through supply-chain innovation with a production collaboration to manufacture new hydrofoils and rudders for SailGP’s high-tech F50s through the Mubadala-owned Strata Manufacturing based in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi.

Inclusive sport and community impact

Aligned with the third pillar, Mubadala also became the title partner of SailGP Inspire, highlighting its commitment to making sport inclusive and accessible, while advancing diversity and education for youth in communities around the world.
