Abu Dhabi (UAE):
Mubadala Investment Company, an Abu Dhabi-based sovereign investor, celebrated Emirati Women’s Day by hosting a live virtual session with H.E. Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, the UAE’s Minister of Culture and Youth. The session highlighted the role of Emirati women in supporting the nation in the next 50 years, as well as their achievements in advancing gender equality and shaping the future for the next generation. The session, which took place on August 27, was hosted by Homaid Al Shimmari, Mubadala’s Deputy Group CEO and Chief Corporate & Human Capital Officer.

H.E. Noura Al Kaabi, who is responsible for fostering UAE-based cultural initiatives nationally and internationally, shared her experience and success stories as a government official, businesswoman and, most importantly, as an Emirati woman. She also shed light on the achievements of women who contributed to the advancement and success of the UAE over the years, as well as the efforts by the nation’s leadership to support and empower Emirati women.

Commenting on the event, Al Shimmari said: “H.E. Noura Al Kaabi has played a key role in paving the way for Emirati women’s empowerment, and she continues to be a strong role model for many women across the UAE. Today is a day to not only celebrate the achievements of Emirati women, but to also look ahead at how we can continue to strive to further advance women’s roles across all aspects of society.”

In May 2020, H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, announced that the slogan for this year’s Emirati Women’s Day will be "Preparing for the next fifty years: Women are the support of the nation," which emphasizes the importance of women’s participation in shaping national priorities, empowering them and highlighting their roles in supporting the UAE’s overall development.
