People Leader Guide

As a People Leader, it is important that you understand your team’s career aspirations and discuss them openly during performance reviews. You should encourage your team to share their career development goals and to check GROW for career opportunities.
Unless specifically agreed otherwise, all roles and vacancies are automatically advertised on GROW.
Employee applications are confidential. It is at the employee’s discretion to disclose if they apply for a role.
Employees are no longer required to obtain approval from their Line Manager to apply for a new opportunity. If they apply for a role, are selected, and accept the final offer, it will be an employee’s responsibility to inform their Line Manager.
We are committed to our employees’ career development. Therefore, priority should be given to internal candidates who are potential fit before reviewing external candidates.
No, posting on GROW will not delay the recruitment process as you can post the role both internally and externally at the same time
If approached by an employee, you are welcome to share information about the role you are recruiting for. However, questions on recruitment process, assessments, and/or their specific suitability for a role should be referred to the relevant recruiter
If the employee has not been selected, the recruiter will inform the employee and provide constructive feedback on why they have not been selected.
The standard transfer period will be one month excluding clearances, if required, and will be agreed between an employee, their current Line Manager, and the new Line Manager. The period may exceed one month if the role is critical for business continuity, or less if there is no business and/or team disruption.

Unless otherwise agreed, all roles will be posted on GROW.

Each portfolio company may have specific guidelines as to which roles can be posted on GROW. Vacancies for managerial roles and below that are not confidential will be posted online. Confidential roles may include roles that are related to a project or initiative that the organization cannot make public at that specific point of time.

Yes. Recruiters will post the vacancies both internally and externally. While hiring is preferred to support employees’ professional development, the final decision will be made based on candidates’ overall suitability for the role as assessed by the Hiring Manager.
Prior to applying for any role, please ensure you spend time understanding the role and how it relates to your career aspirations. If there is more than one job post that is of interest to you and aligned with your career goals and you meet the minimum requirements, you may apply for those job opportunities at the same time.
You may, if it fits into your long-term career goals and you meet the minimum requirements. Please keep in mind that there may be multiple applicants who may have more relevant experience. Make sure your application states any transferable skills that will support your success in the role.
The information on file might not be up to date. Once you have updated your profile online, you can easily maintain it and add new experiences and skills. Once your profile is created, you will not have to create a new profile for each subsequent role to which you apply.
Employees are no longer required to obtain Line Manager approval to apply.

Partners, Recruiters, and other Human Capital employees will not share information about your interest in a new role or your application with anyone except the Hiring Manager.

If for any reason Human Capital cannot keep a conversation confidential, they will inform you of their intentions to share information and explain their reasoning.

Not being selected for a new role does not impact you in your current role and should not discourage you in any way from applying to other positions.
It is an employee’s responsibility to inform their Line Manager that they have accepted a new role. Your notice period should be a part of that discussion and will ultimately be agreed between your current and future Line Managers. In general, we aim to apply a standard one-month transfer period excluding any clearances required. The period may exceed one month if the role is critical for business continuity, or less if there is no business and/or team disruption.
Your Line Manager will not be aware of your application or the outcome thereof unless you choose to disclose it to them. If you reject an offer, or if you are not selected for a role you have applied for, any disclosure to your Line Manager will be at your own discretion.
If you decide to withdraw your application, you will need to send an email to the recruiter of the position that you applied for and explain the reason behind your withdrawal.
