Strata partners with Abu Dhabi Sports Council to host the 3rd Stage of Abu Dhabi Tour and Community Cycle Race in Al Ain

Abu Dhabi, UAE: Strata Manufacturing PJSC (Strata), the advanced composite aero-structures manufacturing company, is partnering with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council to host the third stage of the eagerly anticipated Abu Dhabi Tour cycling event as well as a community race.

The four-stage professional cycling race organized by Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) in collaboration with RCS Sport that will cover 555km from October 20-23, 2016. The event has been included in the 2017 World Tour Calendar of the international cycling union, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).

“The Strata Stage” will take place on October 22, 2016.  Featuring 18 teams from some of the world’s leading cyclists, the event will commence at Qasr Al Muwaiji, the historic birthplace of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The route will feature many sites of Al Ain city and the surrounding desert terrain, before rising towards the final ascent. The race will culminate in an uphill finish at an altitude of 1025m, to the magnificent Jabel Hafeet mountain.

Prior to the arrival of the Abu Dhabi Tour, Strata will host a community race on Friday, October 7 at Wadi Adventure Park, welcoming both elite racers, as well as open racers formed from members of the community. All riders will follow the same looped route on the outward bound ride and return to start/finish line at the Wadi Adventure Park, with the elite and open racers racing to ride up to the summit of Jabel Hafeet. Intermediate and junior racers have the option of racing a shorter route that will omit the mountain, with the cycling race ending at Wadi Adventure Park.

The elite racers participating in the climb to the summit of Jebel Hafeet will commence promptly at 7am followed by open racers at 7:01am, female elite along with open juniors will commence at 7:02am, and the intermediate and juniors starting at 7:03am.
