Rosewood Abu Dhabi, the ultra-luxury hotel situated at the heart of the capital’s Central Business District on Al Maryah Island, has received a Gold Key Award, a top design honour in the hospitality industry.
Rosewood Abu Dhabi was recognised as the Best Luxury Hotel at the prestigious annual Gold Key Award Gala in New York earlier this week.
Designed by HOK, Rosewood Abu Dhabi offers a distinct, personalized luxury lifestyle experience that captures the essence of the Rosewood Hotels and Resorts Sense of Place philosophy. Throughout the hotel, traditional Middle Eastern textiles and details are complemented with modern lines and sleek architectural elements.
Commenting on the accolade, Luigi Romaniello, Managing Director of Rosewood Abu Dhabi, said, "We are honoured to have been recognised as the Best Luxury Hotel at the prestigious Gold Key Awards, which is a coveted honour for hospitality designers around the world. Rosewood Abu Dhabi fuses contemporary design with traditional touches, echoing the Capital’s unique mix of modernity and tradition and offering a memorable luxury lifestyle experience in Abu Dhabi.”
Julia Monk, senior vice president and director of hospitality interiors based in HOK’s Hong Kong office, remarked, “Receiving accolades for our design work at the highest level possible is a testament to our team’s collective efforts. We are particularly grateful to be honored for projects completed both domestically and abroad and for work that celebrates elements of each project’s unique heritage and location.”
Now in their 34th year, the Gold Key Awards for Excellence in Hospitality Design recognize outstanding hospitality design worldwide for properties completed or renovated within the past 18 months. This year’s edition saw a record number of entries of over 260 international projects considered by a team of eleven prominent judges for these coveted awards.
Rosewood Abu Dhabi was also recently named the UAE’s Leading New Hotel at the World Travel Awards.
