Etisalat Offers Free Blackberry Internet Service for New and Existing Subscribers

In its commitment to rewarding customers for their loyalty to the brand, Nigeria’s most innovative GSM service provider, Etisalat has announced the introduction of two promo packages for its new and existing customers respectively, on its BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) plan.

In its commitment to rewarding customers for their loyalty to the brand, Nigeria’s most innovative GSM service provider, Etisalat has announced the introduction of two promo packages for its new and existing customers respectively, on its BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) plan.

Tagged “Blackberry Summer Promo”, the first leg of the promo offers new customers who purchase Blackberry® handsets in-store four months free subscription to BIS, BlackBerry Internet Service. How this works is, for every two months used, customers get the third month free, allowing them enjoy a cumulative of four months free-subscription service in a year.

The second leg of the promo offers existing subscribers two months free services fortwo months subscription fees paid in advance, that is, customers enjoy four months uninterrupted Blackberry® service for the price of two months. To register for the promo which is the second in the series, all customers need to do is to recharge their lines with two months subscription fee before their service suspension date and text BIS or BES respectively to 300. The promo which is open to customers on both prepaid and postpaid will run till the 30th of September 2010.

Explaining the rationale for the promo, Etisalat Director, Marketing Segments & Strategy, Mr. Ernest Akinlola “the BlackBerry Internet Service promo reflects a continuous drive by Etisalat in providing the necessary tools and devices for our customers in order to gain that competitive advantage in their business and family relationships. It will also help our customers in expanding the value derivable from mobile telephony far beyond internet and data transmission but also enhanced connectivity”.

In addition to the immense benefits derivable from the promo, existing and prospective Etisalat customers can now purchase the new Blackberry® Bold 2 9700 Smartphone and the Blackberry® Curve 8520 Smartphone (Gemini) from all Etisalat Experience centers across the nation.

In January 2010, Etisalat offered a special promotional package that provided new and existing customers with the opportunity of enjoying two months’ free subscription at the purchase of any of the BlackBerry devices – BlackBerry Bold 9000, Storm 9500 and Curve 8900 on the unique BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) plan. Etisalat’s recently concluded “Talk for free” promo also offered customers one free minute for every minute spent on the network. This elicited a lot of excitement among subscribers.
