Emirates Defence Industries Company to participate alongside Mubadala and Tawazun at IDEX 2015

Emirates Defence Industries Company (EDIC), the newly established integrated national defence industries platform, will make its first public appearance at this year’s International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) on 22nd-26th February alongside Mubadala and Tawazun.

Demonstrating the spirit of collaboration among the leading actors in the UAE’s defence industry, EDIC will join Mubadala and Tawazun on the largest ever stand since the founding of the exhibition in 1993. The stand will feature a total of 29 companies showcasing the latest developments and innovations from the UAE’s defence manufacturing, mapping, maintenance, repair and overhaul, communications, logistics, training and technology development sectors.

Speaking to the decision for the companies to present together, H.E. Homaid Al Shemmari, Chairman of EDIC, said: “This stand represents a statement of collaboration to the industry, our country and the region. By growing our businesses through inter-company collaboration, we are unlocking synergies which will further support the Armed Forces of the UAE and the wider region.

Alongside Mubadala and Tawazun, EDIC’s companies will showcase innovations from its group of companies including Bayanat, a national leader in the provision of mapping, surveying and geospatial services; NIMR Automotive, the Abu-Dhabi based vehicle manufacturer; Al Taif, the maintenance, repair and overhaul company; and Secure Communications.

H.E. Al Shemmari continued: “By combining forces in the EDIC platform, Mubadala and Tawazun are focused on enhancing performance and efficiency, increasing capacity and benefiting from economies of scale to better serve the Armed Forces of the UAE and the wider region.”
