du is supporting Dubai Cares during its School Feeding campaign with free-of-charge short codes, a mention of the organization’s campaign on du’s Ramadan page with a link to its website and SMS messages to all du customers advising them of the campaign’s activities.

“Ramadan is a time of charity and peace and there can be no greater cause than to support and improve the well being and education of children. We are honoured and touched to be contributing to the Dubai Cares’ School Feeding campaign, a campaign that exemplifies the true spirit of Ramadan,” Hala Badri, EVP Brand and Communications, du.

For the year 2010, Dubai Cares has focused its attention on the vital link between providing nutritious food at schools and children’s access to primary education in developing countries. The facts are alarming. Worldwide, there are 72 million school age children out of school. During the month of Ramadan and through Eid Al Adha period Dubai Cares’ School Feeding campaign will raise funds to provide children with nutritious food during school days to increase the number of enrollment and retention rates at schools.
