Sociedad Minera de Santander, known as Minesa, is a Colombian company focused on developing a world-class underground gold mining operation – the Soto Norte project.

Sociedad Minera de Santander, or Minesa, is a gold mining company focused on the development of a world-class underground mining operation. Its Soto Norte gold project is located in the department of Santander in north central Colombia.

It is one of the most significant undeveloped gold resources in South America.

The Soto Norte project is currently in development stage, producing the technical, environmental and financial studies required for the development of a world-class underground gold mining project. Once fully operational, the Soto Norte gold project has the potential to make a significant contribution to Colombia’s mining sector and will operate at global best practice standards.

Mubadala took ownership of Minesa (previously known as AUX) in February 2015.
