du, the Dubai-based telecommunications company, was founded in 2006 and began offering mobile and fixed telephony, broadband and television, and IPTV services to individuals, homes and businesses across the UAE. The company launched satellite uplink/downlink services for TV broadcasters, in 2007.

Since its inception, du has expanded rapidly and profitably, with more than 8 million individual customers and over 80,000 business customers in the UAE. 

du is owned jointly by the UAE government, Mubadala, Dubai Holding and public shareholders.
