In December, Mubadala worked with the Department of Education and Knowledge to host 35 high school students from public and private schools and the Institute of Applied Technology for the first Engineering Creativity Camp.
Throughout the week-long camp, activities focused on developing students’ skills in areas such as business, robotics, programming, manufacturing and design. The UAE national students from grades 10, 11, and 12, were provided with knowledge and hands-on experiences related to science, engineering and technology; and introduced to topics on product innovation and design. Participants also learned how to assemble, navigate and fly drones (manually and autonomously); budgeting for engineering exercises; as well as marketing techniques and business planning. In addition, they visited facilities where innovative work is already underway in the UAE including Strata, TS&S and the Etihad Aviation Center.
This was the first ever Engineering Creativity Camp by Mubadala, but just one of the many programs created as part of the company’s focus on youth outreach, and developing local talent. Mubadala is committed to getting students excited about science showing them all the possibilities and opportunities that exist within these advanced, growing industries.
