The IWD theme for 2020 is #EachforEqual. It builds on the principles that equality has to be a deliberate strategy and nothing happens by coincidence. Equality is not just a women's issue; it is increasingly becoming a serious business issue. Women are half of society and gender balance is essential for economies and communities to thrive.
Both men and women have a role to play, creating a gender-equal world. It requires champions and supporters to be more conscious, collaborate better broaden perceptions, and improve situations to create gender-equal boardrooms and workplaces while celebrating the achievements of women around the world.

Guinea Alumina Corporation: Aissata Béavogui, Director General of Guinea Alumina Corporation (GAC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Emirates Global Aluminum, was recently honored by the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), which is part of the World Bank Group with the prestigious 2020 MIGA Gender CEO Award.*
Matsa: In Southern Spain, Mubadala’s base metal mining operation Matsa – a 50 percent joint venture with Trafigura – has organized the first symbolic march at their facilities, called "I Marcha Violeta MATSA" to show support for International Women’s Day. Approximately 100 people, both men and women consisting of employees, contractors and representatives of local associations and public officials from the surrounding area, will participate in the march. Audra Walsh, Chief Executive Officer of Matsa, will talk about female inclusion and share the company’s new Policy about Equality and Diversity.
CEPSA: A global integrated energy company in the petroleum and petrochemicals portfolio and one of Spain’s largest industrial companies by revenue is celebrating IWD with its campaign Be inclusive. Be Cepsa. It is creating an impact by highlighting the gender salary gap and setting a target to increase the percentage of women in leadership positions through its diversity an inclusion program over the next four years.
NOVA Chemicals: US based NOVA Chemicals is one of the world’s leading producers of petrochemicals used in the production of consumer, industrial and packaging products. Its efforts to celebrate IWD include a company-wide livestream of its second annual IWD event featuring a panel discussion hosted by Julie Beck, NOVA Chemicals Senior Chief Financial Officer. The panel topic is Enabling a gender balanced workplace.
