Mubadala Capital’s Brazil team are committed to supporting people impacted by the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak, especially within the local community of Rio de Janeiro.

Oscar Fahlgren, Head of Brazil Office, and Hamad AlMarzooqi, Principle and Head of Operations Brazil Office, highlight various initiatives in place that aim to support the Brazilian community’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mubadala has partnered with Rede D’Or to finance the construction of a temporary field hospital in Olympic Park to provide medical care to over 2,000 patients, along with 100 nursery units and 100 intensive care units.

Additionally, Mubadala Capital’s Brazil office has committed financing on ward renovations at the Sao Francisco Hospital to increase the number of hospital beds, in addition to a total of 80 intensive care units in both its locations in Tijuca.

Mubadala has also donated food and hygiene kits for vulnerable communities through BrazilFoundation, the philanthropic organization that runs Mubadala’s social investment fund in the state of Minas Gerais.
