Following Mubadala’s announcement of the strategic collaboration between its subsidiary, Strata Manufacturing, and Honeywell to manufacture N95 respirators at Strata’s Al Ain Facility, H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces visited the facility where he was given a tour, met employees on ground and reviewed a number of production lines including the N95 respirator one.

Badr Al-Olama, Executive Director of Aerospace at Mubadala, sheds light on Strata’s long experience in aerostructures and manufacturing using advanced technology and how the company was able to apply the same standards of technology in the manufacturing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), a key milestone of Strata's “Made with Pride in the UAE” mark.

Ismail Ali Abdulla, CEO of Strata Manufacturing, expresses the honor of the visit by H.H. to the Al Ain facility, where he was briefed about the N95 respirators manufacturing line, which commenced operations in May 2020 and can produce over 30 million respirators annually. The initial production was provided to UAE’s frontlines of defense, such as Abu Dhabi Police and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

The N95 respirators manufacturing line is managed by Emirati staff, where 30 Emirati technicians have been trained and are qualified to work on it.

Hafsa Al Hashemi, an employee at Strata Manufacturing who previously studied nursing, speaks about her experience working on the new manufacturing line and expresses her excitement at being part of this humanitarian initiative, combining the field of aircraft manufacturing and nursing into one project.

Hussam Elkambergy, MD, FACP at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, highlights the importance of the manufacturing line, which helps ensure the continuous supply of PPE for caregivers to have what they need to take care of COVID-19 patients safely.

By collaborating with its longstanding and valued partner, Honeywell, Mubadala is leveraging its breadth and scale to deliver critical support to frontline healthcare workers and members of the wider community in the UAE and around the world.
