Mubadala has enjoyed a strong and longstanding partnership with Boeing. The relationship began in 2009 with the signing of a strategic framework agreement to develop mutually beneficial initiatives in areas of strategic alignment, notably composites manufacturing.

Boeing is the world's largest aerospace company and the leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners and military aircraft combined. The company also designs and manufactures rotorcraft, electronic and defense systems, satellites, launch vehicles and advanced information and communication systems, and provides products and support services to customers in 150 countries.

Key Highlights

UAE airlines account for 58 percent of orders for Boeing’s forthcoming 777X made by regional airlines.

Since its inception in 2009, the Mubadala-Boeing partnership has continually advanced and Strata is now a Tier 1 supplier to Boeing on major components used in empennage production.

During the 2013 Dubai Airshow, the companies extended their partnership, announcing that Mubadala would have the opportunity to supply as much as US $2.5 billion in advanced composites and machined metals to Boeing commercial programs, including the 777X and 787 Dreamliner. 

To support the ongoing development of the aerostructures industry and to create new capabilities in the UAE, Boeing and Mubadala will also work together to develop pre-preg and carbon fiber manufacturing capabilities in Abu Dhabi. This new industry will provide access to new technologies, generate exports and support the development of a local aerospace ecosystem.

Mubadala and Boeing continue to collaborate to enhance the skills of Emiratis in the aerospace industry and are currently working on projects in the areas of people development, engineering, research and development and education and training.
